Hi, I’m Ben, a mathematics student and a huge fan of literature. I love to explore how as humans we represent our experiences of reality, whether through language, cognition, art, mathematics, or philosophy.
Literature has become quite a focus of mine, acting as an intersection between language and art. So, on this site, you’ll primarily find essays and close-reads on literature, as well as a few unpublished writing projects.
Another central part of my interest in representation is synesthesia, a phenomenon which for me primarily shows up as involuntary associations of specific colours when interacting with written symbols. I’ve explored the ways this affects my cognition, and I’m currently working on an anecdotal account of the ways synesthesia shapes my experience of areas like creativity, memory, problem-solving, and expression.
